  I remember in 1979, my grandfather finds a softball, writes my name on it, says to me"is this yours?", and I said, "I dunno", he said,"well it's got your name in it".

  Watch out for the jerk who lives on top of the hill south of the park. He has been arrested and charged with firing a pellet gun at park-goers who stray onto "his" property. Years ago this park was a haven for illicit activity. Allegedly this man (known as Mr. Dempsey) wants the park the way it was before the city of Greenville cleaned it up. He has succeeded in getting the city to remove two holes of the park's public disc golf course that happened to be near his land, to the chagrin of the hundreds who play. He has also built an unsightly wood-and-dirt barrier (which looks like a huge beaver dam) to block "his" property from that of the park, but the barrier is actually within the boundaries of the park, and not on his land at all. That the city can bend to the will of one man disgusts me; that the city can bend to the will of this particular man makes me feel uneasy, almost frightened, about ever visiting this park again. What a shame.
