The church is located at Acqualoreto , part of the municipality of Baschi (TR).
The Church of Santa Maria Assunta , owner of the parish since 1627, is located outside the walls of the castle. The building, constructed in local stone, is a single room , with a vaulted barrel lunettes supported by soffits , just raised chancel and semicircular apse , recently painted , covered with a half-shell three segments. The liturgical environment , which is accessed via a wooden compass , is plastered and painted , punctuated by a series of Doric pilasters which support the soffits . The church is now home to one altar , made of wood decorated from a previous altar removed, and a wooden choir accompanies the development of the apse. In the temple are preserved three paintings dating from the late '500 and early '600 , two of which are the work of Peter Paul Sensini ( Adoration of the Magi, 1580, Madonna and Child with Saints Anthony Abbot and Francis of Assisi , dated 1609) and one of Bartholomew Barbiani ( Crucifixion with Saints Carlo Borromeo and Anthony Abbot , dating back to centuries . XVII). To the side of the entrance is located a baptismal font made ​​of travertine , invoice seventeenth century . The exterior walls of the building, stone -faced , showing the essential characteristics , in particular , the main façade , gabled , in front of the public highway, is characterized by the presence of only three overlapping elements : the entrance portal , a window rectangular above , the circular rose window in position even higher .
