Carter H. Harrison crib (SW) and William E. Dever crib (NE). The Harrison crib is now out of service, but the Denver crib is the source of much of the water supply for the Chicago area.

It is noteworthy that the combined volume of water in the five Great Lakes, Lake Michigan included, comprise the largest known accumulation of fresh surface water in the solar system.
