Constructed in 1956 to serve as a troposcatter communications relay station on the rearward communications network of the Mid-Canada Line (MCL), Site 060 at Relay went online in April of 1957. Serving as a radar data and communications relay post from the main MCL communications center at Cape Henrietta Maria and the NORAD Command Center at RCAF North Bay, Site 060 was equipped with twin pairs of 60ft antenna operating at 10kW for the 153 mile shot North to Fort Albany and the 128 mile Southbound shot to Site 070 at Kempis Mountain, Ontario.

Remaining operational through the life of the Mid-Canada Line, both the Tropo mission carried out by the station came to an end in April of 1965 when the Eastern Sector for the MCL was formally shut down. Essentially abandoned thereafter, the site underwent full-scale demolition and environmental remediation in 2010.
