Opened in 1972 Southwyck Mall was one of the four enclosed major malls serving the Toledo area. Original mall tenants included Montgomery Ward and two local department stores, namely, Lion and Lasalle. The mall also contained a 7 screen movie theater.
Dillard's took over Lion and the Lasalle space until moving to the new Fallen Timbers Shopping Center in 2005. Montgomery Ward went bankrupt and the mall closed in June 2008.
Demolition of the mall buildings was completed in November 2009.
