Nostalgic ice cream parlor and burger stand with neon accents and outdoor tables. Best burgers, shakes and ice cream in Nashville since 1951! It was opened by Thelma Harper (of course, not the character from from a TV sitcom Mama's Family, which was portrayed by Vicki Lawrence!) as Harper's Dairy Dip until 1986 when she handed the restaurant over to the next owner(s) Bobbie McWright (including her husband Lee), and renamed it to Bobbie's Dairy Dip. A few years later, the McWrights sold the property and closed briefly in the late 1990's but reopened in Spring 2000 under the new ownership Claire Mullally. There was no need to change the restaurant's name after the previous owners left, the name still remains the same. And finally in 2006, the restaurant was once again handed over to the new owner Sam Huh, a South Korean entrepreneur who is now residing in Nashville. He is now the boss and general manager of Bobbie's Dairy Dip! The second location was opened on October 11, 2012 (10/11/12!) at 223 4th Avenue North in downtown Nashville!, where Cheeseburger Charley's and Wise Burger used to be at.

The previous owner Bobbie McWright (full name Bobbie Jean Meadows McWright, born December 20, 1938 in Nashville) has passed away on August 2, 2013 at age 75.
