2-story Romanesque-revival garage completed in 1892 as a stable. Designed by E.D. Harris for Henry Hilton, it originally had an extension through to Christopher Street which was removed to make way for the large apartment building at 45 Christopher.
The building was altered for garage use in 1914. It was used primarily by John Wanamaker for Wannamaker Department Store trucks. The garage housed a full fleet of electric delivery trucks which were once a common sight on the city's streets. Today, the building serves as a commercial parking garage.
