This village was formed in 1950, It was a 'siling' land of Assam government and Ghiladhari Bagan Gaon and Rupkolia village. There was a movement called 'Sacilaist Satayagrahi Andulan', 1948-51 was held in this village, it was a first post independent Indian poor farmer's movement with Assam govt. (India) and Land lord (Ghiladhari Tea Estate and Mokrong Tea Estate). The movement was lead by the Freedom-fighters- Bhadra Phukan, Dimbadhar Phukan, Ex-Agriculter Minister Soneswar Bora, Punaram Saikia(Chutia), Indreswar Phukan and Ajolibogai Gogoi under 'Socialist party'.
