Previously, this was the site of the Cooper 1-2-3 movie theater.
The Cooper was built in 1963 originally as the "Cooper 70", with one screen. It was expanded, with two additional screens added, in 1971. It closed in the late 1980s.
After sitting vacant for ten years, the former theater was converted to an office building called "One City Centre" circa 1998. It was demolished and replaced with the current building in 2008.
