The current building replaced an earlier one on the same site, the original "Marion House", which was built in the early 1890s originally as the home of Cripple Creek gold mining magnate Charles Leaming Tutt Sr. It was donated to the local parish in 1933 by Julia Cassidy, originally for use as a convent.
Before building that house, Tutt had an earlier one, which no longer exists, located at 611 North Weber Street.
