The Ismail Market Complex, Central Road Silchar is a newly constructed shopping complex and a first shopping complex in the Cachar district.This shopping complex is dedicated in memory of Late Shri Ismail Mia Choudhury (who was a renowned lawn tennis player and businessman) by the owner of this complex Mrs Rahima Begum Laskar and her husband Mr M.H Laskar (A.C.S) who served the Cachar district as Addl Deputy Commissioner for more than a decade later held various other important post in the state of Assam and retired in 2015 as Joint Secretary to Government of Assam. Mrs Rahima Begum Laskar is the only daughter of the original owner of this plot. The Couple is blessed with two sons and one daughter. The elder son Late Shri Tarun Laskar was an MBBS student and had met untimely death on 01st July 2014, the younger son Mr Milan Laskar is an eminent lawyer at Supreme Court of India, he had pursued Masters in law and is an alumnus from Symbiosis Law School Pune .
