The Abbey of Our Lady of Pesquié is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1991 in Serres-sur-Arget near Foix in Ariege . It is under the direction of the Abesse Immaculata Astre and has approximately 50 sisters (nuns and novices). The nuns spend six hours a day in prayer. The rest of the time is spent at work, in particular that of the farm.All services, which means daily mass and the liturgy of hours, are sung in gregorian chant.
Since 2010, the project to build an larger abbey church is launched, the foundation stone was blessed on November 11, 2010 by Bishop Philip Mousset , bishop of Pamiers. This building will be guided by the Cistercian architecture , sober and balanced.
