Two century old facility, which is a small version of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria. It rises 32 meters above the surrounding terrain. Shabla lighthouse is the oldest Bulgarian Black Sea coast with the highest tower. Today the lighthouse is a military zone and access to it is forbidden.
The Shabla Lighthouse (Bulgarian: Шабленски фар) is a lighthouse located 5 kilometres east of the town of Shabla, Dobrich Province. The lighthouse was built in 1856 by the Ottoman Empire. The lighthouse is located at the easternmost point of Bulgaria.
