Opened in 1920, this place became famous in the 70s when Emanuel Steward started a boxing program in the basement. Thomas Hearns, Hilmer Kenty, and Milton McCrory were just some of the world champion boxers to come from the Kronk. The Center met an unfortunate end in 2006 when it was vandalized, and the City of Detroit could not afford the repairs. It remained vacant, and vandalized, until its demolition in 2018.
