19 flats, some now in office use. Built in 1875 by Corporation of the City of London, architect Horace Jones.
This block, originally known as Viaduct Buildings, is the oldest surviving public housing in London and one of the oldest in Britain. This is the survivor of two blocks built by the Corporation, whose design owes much to Sydney Waterlow's model dwellings for the Improved Industrial Dwellings Company.

  • yep I was born there in the first floor corner flat facing the stairs. so was my father. my mother was born around 3 doors down. and my grandmother born on the top floor 4 doors in from the centre stair case to the left. pleased the building hasn't been torn down. a lot of family history tied up in it.
