Used every week by hundreds of people living or working in the St Pancras area the Gardens contain the tomb of Oliver Cromwell's grand daughter, Anna Gibson. They are also a reminder of the dark history of body-snatching - the first recorded case took place here.

In 1997, after becoming very run-down, the Gardens were one of a group of Camden's historic parks to receive lottery funding under the new Urban Parks Programme. The restored Gardens reopened in Spring 2001. The Friends, formed in 1994, work with Camden Council to ensure that the Council's maintenance is adequate and appropriate, and to preserve the Gardens as a public amenity. This website will tell you about the Gardens’ past, present and future.
