  • This stadium was built before the 1984 minor league season of the AA Greenville Braves, who recently moved to Greenville from Savannah, GA. The first game in the facility was a match-up between the Greenville Braves and the Atlanta Braves. It seats approximately 10,000 spectators. The facility brought minor league baseball back to Greenville for the first time in 10 years. For seven years in the late 80's and 90's, this facility was the home of the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament, and set attendance records for the event. The Greenville Braves moved to Pearl, MS in 2004 and the Columbia (SC) Bombers move in for one season. The city of Greenville has recently sold this property to a private company devoted to developing baseball talent and hosting youth related tournaments. The present Municipal Stadium will soon be joined by five new baseball fields on the property, along with an indoor training facility and easement access to the nearby Conestee Park.
