Chirekkadavu is a Small village, under Edavattom area, which lies in Maravanthuruthu grama panchayathu.
The main Junction is the Kadathu Kadavu [Ferry Station] , where which it gots a ferry service operates by country boat.
Large number of villagers use to commute to their schools /colleges /work / office or other area through this ferry.
Chirekkadavu is cornered by Moovaattupuzha bridge in east side, and other parts joints with Edavattom, Palamkadavu, Chunkam, etc.
The population is around 1000 , majority of them involved in activities like, sand mining industry, agriculture, private /public sector jobs.
There is no government offices situated over there, and the area of attraction is Sreedharmma shastha Temple.
It attracted a great number of people during the festive time, and the major festival of the village is Attuvela.
During the fest, the village will be in peak of joy n festive mood, houses will be decorated with electric and country lights to mark the involvement in festival. Friends and relatives of villagers will join together to celebrate. The attuvela chadu will begin its journey from Kadathu kadavu towards ELamkavu -Attuvelakakdavu.
For the functioning of Attuvela , there is a local trust called, Devi vilasam Thookka fund, governed by the members selected from village committy. The festival happens in Aswathy of Meenam Month [malayalam calender]
