Franc-Waret Castle

Belgium / Namur / Eghezee /
congress centre, meeting house, movie / film / TV location

The castle was built by Jean-Baptiste Chermane for the Earl of Groesbeek around 1740.

The general shape is that of an upper-case A. The symmetrical main building with a triangular pediment is flanked by two massive wings extending along the yard. At the back, this yard is separated from the terraced gardens by a building linking the two wings.

The moat only had a decorative function. The vast stables have been converted into an orangerie.

Franc-Waret Castle is used for meetings, seminars, events and film shootings.
