Safeway #3095, opened March 2015, has a bit of an odd history...it opened as Albertsons sometime around the Lucky merger (it was never a Lucky originally), then sold to Save Mart in 2007, which reopened the store as a Lucky, which licensed the name from Albertsons. In January 2015, Lucky closed for good, and then Safeway opened in March, replacing two older and now closed Safeway locations (Capitol & Aborn, Story & White). By the time Safeway opened, the chain itself was owned by Albertsons. Confused?
