"Het Wakend Oog" is a restaurant near the harbor of West-Terschelling. The building served as a watchkeeping for fishmermen to keep an eye at their ships in the harbor during storms. The original building was made of shipwreck wood, but later is was rebuild of stone by the mayor's son Pierre Eschauzier. The building may also have had some relation to the Free Masons, of which many symbols are integrated into the building. The building was build in 1882 and restaurated in 1991. It has an official monumental status.
