shipwreck, interesting place

The City of Mackinac was constructed in 1882 and served as a side-wheel passenger steamer. As the Florida, it saw the 1933 World's Fair and was converted into a barge for a yacht company. A fire sank the wreck in 1955, but it was refloated and sold again in 1985. It changed hands again but eventually ended up abandoned in the canal. In 2004, the ship was dynamited but the remains still pose a threat to ships passing through.
