    pothanicadu is a small panchayat but beautiful place situvating in the border of ernakulam Dist. 12 kms far from muvattupuzha and hardly 9 Kms from kothamangalam and also 15 Kms from thodupuzha. its a magnificent place of god's own country with greenary, river,ruberplantations. And its situvating very close to the famous two tourist attracted places called thommankuthu and poothathan kettu just 10 Kms drive from downtown . . Famous people from here include Dr.Babu paul,dominic paul,Mr. C. J. George(geojith) and the list keep going .More over its the The first panchayat to attain the so called 100% literacy in INDIA Koottapillil Family is a well-known Syrian catholic family of kothamangalam diocese .Family the passing of time and parting of ways by dear and near ones it became impossible to keep track of the spreading of the Family members into new territories. The families and their off springs have migrated to new pastures within Kerala, India, the Gulf Countries, U.S.A, Canada, Germany, U.K and other European countries.But to keep the track and glory of the family ,evey year the month of may 1 st we celebrate as our family day ....     Roy Varghese, Koottappill (guest) wrote 5 years ago The first family in Pothanicadu is Koottappillil family migrated from Varappety (Originated from a Bhramin family from Edathua, near Changanassery). Then, Peringarappillil family and came Mannaraprayil family migrated from Piravom. The first 100 per cent literate Grampanchayath in India and thus made a mark in the map of our nation. That 's too less for Pothanicadu. We need to and will make many land marks in our country.
