Interior of the Basilica of Santa Chiara (Assisi, Italy)

The interior of the church has a Latin cross with a nave (four bays), a transept and a polygonal apse. The arches of the time resting on piers, crossing the bare walls, brightened only by a gallery above which open the mullioned windows. Formerly the aisle hosted a series of frescoes on the life of the saint, of which only a few fragments after whitewashing the eighteenth century and the damage of the earthquake of 13 January 1832.
