6-story L-shaped office building completed in the late 1800s. The Jazz Gallery, a not-for-profit jazz cultural center is located on the ground floor. The building has an alternate address of 286 Spring Street. The facades facing both Hudson & Spring Streets have a stone ground floor, with red brick above. Three piers divide each facade into two bays of two windows, with each pair connected by stone sills and lintels. There are corbelled brick band courses above the 1st, 5th & top floors. The exposed side walls (the inner parts of the L) are clad in light brown brick, with remnants of painted advertising signs, and several square-headed windows.
