The Green Building's a 217-foot, 17-story art-decorations office building completed in 1930. Designed by Buchman & Kahn, it has a 2-story limestone base with buff-colored brick above. On the piers @ the 2nd floor're bas-reliefs depicting working men using pre-machine age tools to measure, mix, & sharpen, (They are coloured in on the 6th Avenue facade.) The Green Building's divided into 4 bays of 4-pane-wide windows on the 6th Avenue, (West,) side, with 9 bays on the Watts Street side, & 7 bays on the Thompson Street side. The southern facade's faced in concrete & has 3 bays on each side, with the middle interrupted by a blank concrete wall. The piers run up the height of the building &'re slightly projecting. The building has its first setback above the 12th floor, where there are also 2 mini-piers in each bay, with each pier extending slightly up above the roof line. There is another setback above the 14th floor.
