Three women from Cleveland Ohio were held captive in this house as prisoners for ten years. 52-year-old Ariel Castro kidnapped three girls and held them for about a decade. Michelle Knight was kidnapped on August 22, 2002 at age 21. Amanda Berry was kidnapped April 21, 2003 at age 17. Georgina "Gina" DeJesus was kidnapped April 2, 2004 at age 14. While imprisoned, Castro fathered a daughter with Amanda Berry who was born captive on December 25, 2006.

The four girls escaped the house on May 6, 2013 after Amanda Berry broke out and got help. Castro was arrested and charged with their kidnapping among other charges. He plead guilty to 937 charges involving his crimes on July 26, 2013 and was imprisoned for life. The house was demolished on August 7, 2013. Castro was found dead in his jail cell on September 03, 2013.
