A lava flow from Pu'u O'o that started from a vent on June 27th 2014, it began traveling initially over the Kahauale'a Two lava flow which the supplying vent to was diverted to the vent of the June 27th flow. The flow eventually reached the Wao Kele O Puna Forest Reserve and shortly after went into a series of cracks caused by the setting weight of Kilauea and moved east north eastward. Along the way the flow front jumped from ravine to ravine. In September it emerged and began moving north east narrowly missing Kaohe Homesteads before turning East northeast towards Pahoa in October. Much of the flow up to the exit from the ground cracks is through a series of insulating lava tubes. As a result of it's placement north of the elevated East Rift Zone and numerous lava tubes it has traveled a longer distance overland than other flows from Pu'u O'o. On October 25 it crossed Apa Street and is continuing towards Pahoa.
