Carmelite priory dating from 1240; now a ruin turned into a hunting lodge for the Duke of Northumberland. Located in Hulne Park, an extensive preserve of the Duke, largely landscaped by Capability Brown; other sites in the park include the pseudo-gothic Brizlee Tower and the ruins of Alnwick Abbey.
