Exposed remains of the Third Wall of Jerusalem (consensus view), as described by the 1st century historian Flavius Josephus (Jewish Wars, 5:147ff). This is the northeastern corner of a northward-projecting tower, viewed in a pit in the pavement. More remains lie across the streets to both the east and west.
