Exposed remains of the Third Wall of Jerusalem (consensus view), as described by the 1st century historian Flavius Josephus (Jewish Wars, 5:147ff). These (and many more, later covered up) were exposed in the 1920s by Sukenik and Mayer. More remains lie to the east, in the plaza across the street and along the sidewalk opposite the petrol station.
