Old Market Lane is one of the very Oldest Village Thoroughfares that connected the Old Perumpilly Market (owned by the Perumpilly Holy family Church)and with the rest of the areas in Narakkal Grama panchayat.
Still being daily used by the general Population of this area, the western end of the Thoroughfares Between the Hospital Complexes is still Originally Part of the original Parish property opened up by the parish for the general public to access the market. When The Old market was Closed to Build Kristhu Jayathi Hospital the relevance of this lane was Questioned by the Parish & a section of the Parishioners, they are of the opinion that when the Parish donated adjacent part of the same Land to the Panchayat in the late 1970's for building a full fledged Panchayat road for the same purpose, and since the Market was non Existent, This narrow piece of prime land should be Returned for the exclusive use and for the development of Kristhu Jayathi hospital.
There are Approximately 10 Dwellings that depend exclusively on this lane to Directly access the main Road from their properties and hence their fierce opposition to closing this lane as their direct Access and Real Estate values will be Adversely affected.
