It is one of the five main rivers of Bhutan. This one is the western most. It rises in Chumbi Valley - that little finger of Tibet separating Sikkim from Bhutan. Its total length is about 350 kms of which 120 or so are in Tibet, 150 in Bhutan and the rest in India and Bangladesh, where it meets the Mighty Brahmaputra. Kaljani , another river from Bhutan (passing through Alipurduar Town) meets Torsha near Bhelakopa (of Coochbehar Dist) .
