Harbour island

Smallest of a four island chain on the Umpqua River in Douglas County, Oregon. Located near the Umpqua's northern shore approximately five miles upriver from the Umpqua River Bridge, the island is the third of four tiny vegetated islands referred to by local kayakers as the Four H'S. Other island in the chain include: Hudson island, Harbour island, and Henley island. The island group is accessible only by boat and is a good destination point for short kayak trips.

  • Micro island with one suitable campsite. Central inlet is surprisingly deep. Geese nest in grass on the nothern raise. Small sandy beach landing on the sourthern side. Tidal zone around island is not vey mucky and worth a visit.
