Haiden island

USA / Oregon / Reedsport /

Westernmost of a four island chain on the Umpqua River in Douglas County, Oregon. Located near the Umpquas northern shore approximately five miles upriver from the Umpqua River Bridge, the island is the first of four tiny vegetated islands refered to by local kayakers as the Four H'S. Other island in the chain include: Hudson island, Harbour island, and Henley island. The island group is accessible only by boat and is a good destination point for short kayak trips.

  • Best explored from the eastern side. West end is heavely cattailed and sandbar is a bit mucky. Sandy beach on south side of the channel between Haiden and Hudson island is the best site to land and begin your island adventure. Highly reccommend.
