  Velayuthapuram (aka) Christhurajapuram -------------------------------------------- Population and Language ----------------------- Hi welcome to velayuthapuram aka christhurajapuram where 'Velaan Makkal[Ulagirke Unavu alika kudiya Vivasaya makkal]' lives.while describing about this village ,its consists of around 1500 families in which 98 percentage of people following Christianity, and mother tongue is 'The language which is mother for all languages -TAMIL' .

  Occupation: ------------------ Velayuthapuram is the one of the backbone of india, since 'Villages are Backbone of india'. Most of the people, owning lands and cultivating oraganic folds like rice,cotton, sunflower,sugarcane etc.And this village is famous for 'cruz malai maatha kovil' which is located on top of a hill on the east side of the village and also it is having another one church called st.John Berchmans Church.

  Education: 'RC Primary School' which is run by RC Diocese Of Palayamkottai,with the help of native people.Around 2000 A.D, New school was constructed by Fr.Moeson ,since the old building of school is left for the upcoming construction for the 'Thirumana Mandapam'[Marriage Hall].Young generation are well educated, and working as Engineer, Doctor,Teacher in various parts of Tamil Nadu and some of them working in abroad.

  Religion ----------- The local Christian were very strong in faith. They themselves come forward to donate pieces of land to form a big campus for the church and presbytery. As a consequence of the zealous efforts of the people, the down of the separate parish of Velayuthapuram took place on 11th February 1958 Most Rev. Leonard issued the order Velayuthapuram as new parish. Fr. Manala was the first parish priest who built up the faith of the people. After the bifurcation, for almost eleven priests love done the ……….. In 1987, new parish, Duraisamipuram was bifurcated for Velayuthapuram now at priest Fr. Michael Raj C.P. is sheparding the parish
