Proposed southern bus stand by CMDA and approved by government
A new long distance bus terminus will come up at Vandalur near the city, as the present one, the Chennai Mofusil Bus Terminus (CMBT) at Koyambedu is too congested and is bursting at the seams.

To be constructed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), the new terminus will be utilised to facilitate more bus services to the southern districts of the State

  • Superb!!! plan should be done immediately and also Chennai Metro Rail and Mono Rail should be linked with this new bus terminus and Vandalur Railway Station. All buses should go via Vandalur Railway Station and space should be provided near the Vandalur Bridge to accomodate more buses. Now many buses are not halting here after VMBT established all the buses will stop at Vandalur Gate Stop. We are awaiting for the inaugural day of VMBT (Vandalur Mega Bus Terminal)

  • Selvi has more obstacles from opposition parties. The plan may fail for want of funds. If it is other government, they will have acquired lands first. So far, this government has not acquired even a small piece of land in the identified area. Sugaraj,Madurai.
  • vandalur bus stand is a need of the hour for the chennai city. The opposition parties should compel the AIADMK government to accept the recommendations of CDMA and complete the work before DEC 2016. The opposition should criticise the government machinery for not making the use of ideas. They can write article commenting that plans are on the paper and not executed, calling the plans paper tiger.
