fraternity, social club
Headquarters since 1960 of Italian Sons and Daughters of America, a national fraternal organization.
The three-story Art Deco building at 419-423 Wood Street was designed in 1929 for the Germania Savings Bank. Several restaurants have occupied ground floor space: Stouffer's from 1931 through the 1960s, and more recently McDonald's. Orange corrugated metal siding that covered the upper floors for many years was removed in March 2012, revealing the original limestone facade.
