830 Third Avenue

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Third Avenue, 830
 office building, commercial building

13-story early-modern office building completed in 1958. Designed by Roy O. Allen & William T. Meyer of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, it is the former National Headquarters of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., who moved to the site when the building was completed, and vacated the building in 1992. It is clad in a curtain wall of green glass and light-grey metal spandrels above a ground floor of black polished granite with plate-glass and metal storefronts. At both main facades, the ground floor is divided into five bays. The main entrance is in the south bay on the avenue, with a small metal canopy. Both facades have a single setback above the 11th floor. The ground floor is occupied by Cohen's Fashion Optical, and a Republic Bank branch.
