Gary Field was the site of the Morton Air Academy, which provided contract primary flight training to the Army Air Corps during WW2. It was later used as the Palo Verde High School & Junior College right after the war.

  • It seems I read somewhere that the FAA still has this airport as "active" (@2013). I can not believe this, but it might be true for some reason.
