As I recall a geode is a rock formed by a volcano and when split in half the center is crystalized minerals. these rocks can be thrown great distances hence no volcano in the area...but why those 2 spots are the primary areas is puzzling?

you are correct and I also wonder why these two areas...have to see volcanos in the area

it has nothing to due with volcanos. it has to do with pressure and heat, which creates metamorphic rocks. Gas is trapped in rock as it undergoes great heat and pressure and this gas creates a bubble where the seed mineral can form the druzy one sees when the geode is opened.
