Confluence of Bhagirathi River & Alaknanda River forms Holy River Ganga at Devprayag. "Prayag" is Hindi word which means "Confluence". "Dev" is Hindi word which means "God". Hence "Devprayag" means "God confluence". It is very Holy place for worshiping and other religious work in Hindu religion in India. It has also importance as Holy river Ganga originated by this congfluence.
