This is the site of Stonea Station on the Ely to March line.

The station was opened on14 Jan 1847 and survived for passenger use until 7 Nov 1966 (with goods service having already been withdrawn on 28 Dec 1964).

The platforms have been demolished, however the adjoining level crossing is manually controlled and a 'porta-cabin' tyle building stands on the site replacing an original crossing keeper's hut that stood across the bridge over the avoiding road (the level crossing is necessary as the road under-bridge has very low clearance).

www.npemap.org.uk/tiles/map.html#545,293,1 shows the station as it appeared on 1940s Ordnance Survey maps.
