Originally an Aspirin Plant of Kerala Salycilites & Chemicals was functioning here, which became defunct in the late eighties. The land was transferred by the Industries Dept to Kerala SIDCO and they have proposed a Telecom City in this 28 acre parcel of land.

Temporarily, the Games Village for the 35th National Games is proposed to be set up in this parcel of land for the Games scheduled to be held in January / February, 2014.
