A prominent section of the former Brooks-Scanlon lumber railroad, that transported logs to the Cloquet River from 1901 to 1912 where it was then abandoned. The northern section is easily visible from Highway 52. Bits of this railroad cut through the Duluth airport & the Hermantown school property.
