mountain, granite
Elevation: 8,497 feet (2591 meters)
Named for Carleton E. Watkins (1829-1916) the California landscape photographer who began working in Yosemite Valley in 1863.
Beginning with his first visit to the valley, Watkins photographed this huge slab of granite many times. He especially liked the way it's reflection was so nicely framed in Mirror Lake.
