Formed from the ashes of the MGM Animation studios when it closed in 1957, Hanna-Barbera was responsible for many of the cartoon shows watched by generations of children. These shows included Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, the Flintstones, and others. After being acquired by Ted Turner it began producing new shows for his Cartoon Network, including Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and Powerpuff Girls.
When Turner's holdings were acquired by Time-Warner, Hanna-Barbara was folded into Warner Animations.
