Shinto shrine located in Kameoka (city), Kyoto (prefecture). It is one of nine hundred Atago shrines, popular for their divine favor of fire prevention. The late-Kamakura period Honden has been designated as Important Cultural Property.
This shrine is also called Moto-Atago (original/first Atago shrine). Though the actual time of establishment is not known, the shrine legend says that they were established in the Age of the Gods (before 660 B.C.)
