Nearest city to dam is Amravati . in Amravati District of Maharashtra . The dam would be an Earth fill + Masonry Dam .The purpose of the dam is for Irrigation . The Length of dam will be 995 m ( 3264.44 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation will be 50.77 m ( 166.568 Feet ) . The Project will have Ogee type of Spillway . Length of the spillway will be 41.5 m ( 136.154 Feet ) . The spillway will have three Radial type of spill gates. The Dam's catchment area is estimated to be 11.5 Thousand Hectors . Maximum / Gross storage capacity is estimated to be 28.939 MCM. Live storage capacity is estimated to be 28.274 MCM.
