Official Designation of Baslapur Dam Irrigation Project is " Baslapur Dam , D - 3389 " . However local and popular name is " Baslapur Lake / Baslapur Talav ". Baslapur Dam was constructed as parts of Irrigation Projects by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1972. It is built on and impounds Kholad River . Nearest city to dam is Chandur Rly, taluka Chandur railway in Amravati District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The purpose of the dam is for Irrigation,The Length of dam is 320 m ( 1049.87 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation is 17.85 m ( 58.5629 Feet ) .
